We want people to feel safe when they are travelling. We also want people to feel safe when they are walking to and waiting at the bus stop. We have recently invested in comprehensive CCTV coverage at all bus interchanges and on buses, in partnership with the bus operators. We want to do more. With this in mind we have recently appointed an officer who has specific responsibility for improving security. Our security officer will be looking into the following initiatives: -
Developing a system to monitor incidents on buses and in the vicinity of bus stops to identify hot spots

Investing in CCTV cameras at bus stops where issues are identified

Working with the police and community safety officers to target areas where there are problems
