South Shields The ferry landing is about a 5 minute walk from South Shields Metro station. Most local buses serve Keppel Street bus station. 
North Shields
The ferry landing is about a 10 minute walk from North Shields Metro station. The route is quite steep, but the FerryLink (Service 333) provides a free shuttle service to Shields Ferry passengers. It also goes to North Shields Fish Quay.
The Route 19 bus service connects North Shields ferry landing with Royal Quays, Silverlink Business and Retail Park, Cobalt Business Park and the Metro system.
