Route 19 priority bus road.

Story added: Wednesday 18 January 2006

The Route 19 priority bus route is a success, carrying around 15,000 passengers a week on partly car-free roads through Cobalt and Silverlink business parks.

Nexus now plans to complete the direct route to Northumberland Park Metro station by building a final section of car-free road on a line south of the station.

This will cut journey times between Cobalt and Northumberland Park because buses will no longer have to circle round via public roads.

The project links directly with projects already completed to build the new station at Northumberland Park (opened 2005) and its attached multi-storey park-and-ride car park (opened December 2008).
