Metro bosses are always looking to get bums on seats as they strive to increase the number of people using public transport. But now they’re turning their attention to a different part of anatomy -namely feet. In the run-up to Christmas, with trains becoming busy with shoppers, Metro chiefs are urging the small number of people who insist on putting their feet on the seats to keep them off. Metro Director Ken Mackay, said: “We don’t want people to put their feet on the seats at any time of year, but particularly now. “The Christmas shopping rush has already started and trains are getting busier all the time and we want to be sure there are seats for people. “People shouldn’t have to ask someone to get their feet off a seat, the feet shouldn’t be there in the first place. “The weather at this time of year means that people’s shoes are bound to be dirty so anyone using a seat afterwards are in for a nasty shock.”
