A dramatic new look for Haymarket station has been revealed by Nexus as work continues on the £20m rebuilding of the station. The design features new curved walls and ceilings creating a more open, brighter and better waiting environment.

| Metrocars. |

Tyne and Wear Metrocars. There are 90 Metrocars in service. They are ususally coupled in pairs to provide the peak-time service. |

| QuayLink buses |
 |
There are two QuayLink routes. Q2 serves Haymarket, Monument and travel along the Quayside to Ouseburn. Q1 serves Central Station, Monument, The Sage Gateshead, BALTIC and Gateshead Interchange. Both services travel between Guildhall and Monument up Dean and Grey Street. |

| Northumberland Park Metro station |
 |
Northumberland Park, a new £5.7m Metro station at Backworth near Whitley Bay is playing a major role in providing access to jobs and services. It has 60-space park & ride facility; it serves around 1,500 nearby homes. |

| St Peter's Metro station |
 |
St Peter’s Metro Station, on the Sunderland Metro line, was “Highly Commended” in the Railway Heritage Trust Award category of the National Railway Heritage Awards 2003. The award recognised St Peter’s as “the best restored listed structure of historical interest”. St Peter’s, an extremely modern-looking structure, qualified for the award because it sits on the site of an original Victoria viaduct.
