What we have achieved

  • Expansion of Superoute to 41 high quality bus services on key corridors
  • Demand responsive transport Ucall services introduced in Hetton le Hole
  • Installed bus priority signals at nine key locations in the Real Time Information (RTI) project
  • Introduced a second innovative Shared Taxi service in South Shields
  • Completion of the kerb guided elements on the Stephenson Corridor
  • Implementation of the Route 19 bus service in North Tyneside


What we plan to achieve

  • Complete the bus route elements of the Centrelink project
  • Further extend the Superoute network to a target of up to 50 services
  • Introduce further bus priority signals at new locations in the RTI project
  • Further develop demand responsive and other innovative service alternatives as appropriate to local opportunities that combat social exclusion
