Each of the 5 Districts in Tyne & Wear are asked annually to nominate 2 elected members to sit on the PTA Scrutiny Advisory Committee.

The Districts are Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland.

As a sub committee of the PTA, the committee will require re-appointment at the PTA's Annual General meeting in July.

The Committee may extend invitations to representatives of organisations with a Tyne & Wear remit that can contribute and advise on transport issues the committee may wish to address through their work programme.

The membership for the municipal year 2008/09 follows:
