• To make reports or recommendations to the PTA with respect to the discharge of the PTA’s functions;

• To review or scrutinise the decisions made or other action taken, in connection with the discharge of the PTA’s functions;

• To make reports or recommendations to the PTA on matters which affect Tyne & Wear and which relate to the PTA’s functions.

Please note:

Members of the PTA Scrutiny Advisory Committee will not be members of the PTA, the Committee will not have the additional power of ‘call-in’ and delay the implementation of decisions made by the PTA unless it has asked the Authority to reconsider its decision first.

The responsibility for monitoring financial probity lies with the PTA’s Standards and Audit Committee whose remit includes responsibility for the Authority’s internal control system and promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by authority members.
